Denosumab is a prescription medicine available as a pre-filled syringe for injection. It is typically administered once every six months by a trained healthcare professional.
Patients receiving this treatment are usually advised to take calcium and vitamin D supplements to support bone health.

Denosumab works by targeting a protein in the body called RANKL. This protein plays a role in the development and activity of cells that break down bone. By blocking RANKL, denosumab helps reduce bone loss and maintain bone strength.
